ALS Therapy Development Institute Partners with Applied Proteomics, Inc. of Glendale (CA) to Develop Protein Based Biomarkers for ALS

The Glendale, Calif.-based Applied Proteomics will collaborate with ALS to identify and validate protein biomarkers associated with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease). Biomarkers may be used to track the progression of disease and aid in the development of effective therapeutics for ALS, for which there are none. The Muscular Dystrophy Association's Augie's Quest Initiative is a major funder of ALS TDI, and provided the critical funding needed to execute this important collaboration. Applied Proteomics, Inc. was founded in 2007 by Dr. David Agus (USC-Keck School of Medicine) and Dr. Danny Hillis (Applied Minds, Inc.) to implement their unique vision for proteomics-based biomarker discovery and validation... Read more
