Spectrum Raises $20 Million
 
The Irvine-based Spectrum Pharmaceuticals Inc. said last Friday that it received $20 million from three institutional investors as part of a registered direct stock offering. Proceeds from the offering will be used for general corporate purposes, the company said.... Read more

Xencor Presents Preliminary Phase I Data on XmAb2513 Antibody for Lymphomas at 2009 American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting
 
XmAb2513, an antibody drug candidate developed by Xencor (Monrovia) based on proprietary antibody engineering technology, was well tolerated in patients who had a median of six prior lines of cancer treatment. ISTA Pharmaceuticals Announces FDA Advisory Committee to Review Bepreve for the Treatment of Ocular Itching Associated with Allergic Conjunctivitis 

Last November, ISTA (Irvine) filed its NDA with the FDA for Bepreve.  ISTA expects a standard review of ten months and has been given a PDUFA decision date of 9/12/09 for the FDA to complete its review of its pending.... Read more

DaVita to Move Headquarters from California to Denver
 
DaVita Inc., which operates 1,400 kidney treatment centers nationwide, says it will move its corporate headquarters from El Segundo, Calif., to Denver. Chairman and CEO Kent Thiry said  the company expects the move to save millions of dollars. He also cited Denver's central location and quality of life, and DaVita's growing business in the region.... Read more
