Biggest Overhaul of Patent System Since 1952 Passes Senate

 

The Senate passed an overhaul of the U.S. patent system that President Barack Obama has called crucial to his administration's effort to boost job growth. In an 89-9 vote last Thursday, the Senate cleared a bill passed by the House in June that would fundamentally alter the way patents are reviewed and mark the biggest change to U.S. patent law since at least 1952. The Sub-Epidermal Moisture (SEM) scanner is a handheld device which measures the dielectric properties of the tissue being assessed and provides an estimation of the sub-epidermal moisture which is indicative of risk of decub ulcer formation. ImmunoCellular Therapeutics Announces 55% Overall Survival at Three years from Phase I Study in Glioblastoma

 

ImmunoCellular Therapeutics (Woodland Hills), a biotechnology company focused on the development of novel immune-based cancer therapies, today announced updated long-term data from a Phase I clinical trial of ICT-107, the Company's lead cancer vaccine candidate for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), the most common and aggressive form of brain cancer. Three-year overall survival is 55% compared to 16% based on historical standard of care (SOC). The data show that 38% of newly diagnosed patients who received ICT-107 continue to show no tumor recurrence after three years, compared to the historic disease-free survival rate of 6% with SOC ...
