This mixer will feature presentations on

New Drug Development in a Changing Regulatory Environment

This mixer will feature presentations highlighting the efforts of Stellar Biotechnologies (Port Hueneme) and ImmunoCellular therapeutics (Woodland Hills) in developing novel therapeutics in a changing and increasingly challenging regulatory environment. The forum will also present new tools for emerging companies to demonstrate the power of information in the current regulatory environment.

Darrell Brookstein, Executive VP, Stellar Biotechnologies

Stellar Biotechnologies is a world leader in the development and manufacture of keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH).  Stellar serves the rapidly growing demand for this essential molecule in pharmaceutical and diagnostic markets.  The company ensures supply of the highest quality, GMP-grade KLH protein and it is developing a suite of novel KLH assays and products for immunological use.  

Manish Singh, PhD, President & CEO, ImmunoCellular Therapeutics

ImmunoCellular Therapeutics is developing a brain cancer vaccine which is now in phase II clinical trials. Prior to joining ImmunoCellular Therapeutics, Dr. Singh was a Director of California Technology Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm in Pasadena, California, from June 2003 to December 2007. During his tenure at California Technology Ventures, Dr. Singh co-lead investments by that firm in several life sciences companies, including Aliva Biopharmaceuticals, SurgRx, Vivant Medical, Angioscore and Ceregene. He also acted as the interim CEO of Aliva Biopharmaceuticals, a human monoclonal antibody production company focused on creating a greater diversity of antibodies, and was a board member or observer for several companies, including Aliva, Angioscore and Ceregene.  

Manisha Murthy, Manager, Product Solutions Team, Elsevier

Manisha heads the pharma-biotech product solutions team for the Corporate S&T division with Elsevier Inc. The global team represents the portfolio products and engages with the industry on best practices for applications of the data. The team also works on customized solutions with industry partners on company specific R&D Informatics Objectives such as; predictive toxicity, chemistry content collaboration, pharmacovigilance & AE tracking, Translational Informatics, Clinical Trial data normalization, etc. Manisha has a Masters in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles and a Masters in Biochemistry from the University of Mumbai, India
